It’s Badr all over again…
Sunday, March 9th, 2008Prior to the election day, I vowed to myself that the next day I won’t watch the vote counting session on the TV, as I know this election has always been a one-sided (aka handicapped) match, as the ruling party has all the media and government machinery at their disposal. I almost felt helpless to the political situation in Malaysia. I felt like this is ‘Badr war’ all over again. The enemies came from every possible angle, and we are trapped, short of resources and severely outnumbered. And the only this we can do is to rely totally to Allah…
Nevertheless, I never stopped praying to Allah, I never lost hope in Allah, that one day, Allah will give us the victory that we have long yearned for. The victory that will deny BN’s 2/3 majority in the parliament, the victory that will take the arrogant out of them, the victory that will path a way for all Malaysians to make Malaysia a better place…
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.
Alllahuakbar, Allahuakbar, Allahuakbar.
Those are the only words that I can said after the election result is out. I watched Malaysiakini and Harakahdaily updated their website almost every minute, watching in almost disbelief that the People Front (PAS, PKR n DAP) took 5 states plus KL while denying BN the all important 2/3rd majority, although at this time, it’s still unofficial. And all the adrenaline made me impossible to get to sleep although it’s already 2:30 in the morning. Nevertheless, I slept at 3 only to wake up at 6, and I straight away refreshed Malaysiakini and Harakahdaily to get the latest update. And it’s now confirmed that the People Front has actually took 5 states and denied BN 2/3 majority. Alhamdulillah. Allahuakbar!! Then I slept again, and when I woke up at 11 (penat woo..) and the first thing I did, again, was to race to my pc, refreshed Malaysiakini, Harakahdaily, and The Star, to see is it really real what I read last night. And Alhamdulillah, it’s REALLY REAL.
It’s almost like a dream. Almost. Only it is real.
Congratulations to all Malaysian who voted for change. Congratulations to all who voted for a stronger opposition. Congratulations to all who worked night and day to make all this come true. Congratulations to all who are brave enough to brush aside all BN’s lies and threats, and to tell all these BN people that we doesn’t need them anymore and we have had enough of them. Congratulations, wherever and whoever you are.
Let’s hope that this is not just a climax in our country’s political scenario. Let’s hope that insyaAllah, this is just a start, where the journey would be much more enduring than this, but the ending is really, a happy ending. InsyaAllah.
Lastly, do not forget that all this came from Allah. He determines everything, the past, current and the future.
All I can is we won because we rely totally on Allah.
